How it works

Choose how to hand over
"Hand over to client" downloads a CSV with that client's logins and subprojects. "Transfer to the client" moves the whole client to their account.

Confirm with your password
Exporting or transferring asks you to confirm your identity, because it includes the passwords.

The client accepts the transfer
They get an email, sign in or create an account with that email, choose the workspace to receive it in and whether your agency stays on as editor.

- The CSV uses the same columns as the importer, so it can be imported back as is.
- You can include cards in a separate file.
- A transfer moves the client, its subprojects, the logins with their 2FA and the cards used only by that client.
- The transfer link expires after 7 days and the client can decline it.
- "Export everything" downloads every client in the workspace, for the owner and admins.
- Available on every plan. Downloads are made from the web.

Does the client have to pay to receive the transfer?
No. They can receive it with a free account.
Do I lose access after transferring?
It depends on what the client chooses when accepting: they can keep your agency as editor or take it over alone.
Can I export everything if I want to leave Passfolio?
